Notice of upcoming temporary traffic management on B3004

SSEN are installing 18km of cable to provide a modern and more resilient electricity network. A part of the cable route runs along the B3004 from Mill Lane through to Green Street at the junction with Forge Road and Oakhanger Road. To conduct this work safely, a road closure on the B3004 will be in place from 9 January 2024 to 12 August 2024. The road will be closed to through traffic during this time. The schedule for the works along the B3004 is as follows:

1. Mill Lane - 9 January to 16 March 2024
2. Wilsom Road - 16 March to 22 April 2024
3. Caker Lane - 1 April to 28 April 2024
4. Worldham Hill - 28 April to 21 June 2024
5. Green Street - 11 June to 12 August 2024

The team will proceed along the B3004, in an easterly direction, starting on Mill Lane in Alton.

To update those living and working in the vicinity of these works, SSEN are holding two community drop-in events to talk through the works, and answer any questions. The drop-in events will take place at:

1. 6 December from 3pm - 6:30pm in the members room at Alton Community Centre (GU34 1HN)
2. 7 December from 3pm - 7pm at the Three Horseshoes Pub in East Worldham (GU34 3AE)
